We recommend that you come in comfortable cloth that does not restrict movement. Always wear deodorant and practice good hygiene. Bring shoes with smooth soles that will allow easy turning. For the safety of others and to protect the floor, wet or muddy shoes are not permitted while dancing.
Not a problem! Having a dance partner is not needed, as we work on a rotation system where all students meet, practice and rotate with one another as well as with the instructor. This rotation system helps you to get experience dancing with a variety of dancers, very similar to what you will be doing at a social dancing party. The more people you can dance with, the more you will understand your own technique/skills.
We recommend that all first-time students attend one of our beginner classes. From there, we will be able to help you to join the appropriate level for you.
6 week courses are a fantastic way to start the learning process. You will be learning with the same group of students for the duration of the course. There are new moves and thecniques introduced every week. Drop-in classes are a more flexible option for students who would like to attend as their schedules allows them.
From the beginning you will be learning Salsa Line Style.
From the biggining you will be learning Urban Bachata, while moving up levels we will introduce you to some Sensual Bachata elements.
How long does it take to learn how to dance well? Your consistency and commitment level will determine the pace at which you progress. Once you begin taking dance classes, you will have a better idea of the roadmap to reach your own personal dance goals. It can take few months or as long as a couple of years for you to achieve your max level. On average, students progress from beginners to Improvers in 10-12 weeks.
